Microsoft Defender ATP Servers Licensing

AFAIK, the M365 Security license is for clients only. For servers, you need to standalone license or onboard them to ASC

Thijs Lecomte Yes, that was my understanding as well.
However recently I raised ticket with Microsoft Support to confirm on the same and a guy from the Convergys (Microsoft vendor) who was assigned the ticket told me that licensing for servers will be covered under Volume License pack of M365 E5. Not sure if this is correct.

Otherwise, document that ticket in order to 'cover your **bleep**' later.
I don't think that's correct, but I am not a licensing expert so don't quote me on it- AnuragSrivastavaFeb 15, 2021Iron Contributor
Thijs Lecomte Yeah will need to check with someone from Microsoft only.
