MDE tagging for MacOS devices

I have been testing this approach, and I can't get the tag reflected in MDE. May I know if Microsoft Defender App must be installed on the macOS? I do have a solution for Windows which works fine. The same is for Mobiles (public preview). May I know what I am missing here? BTW, 48 hours passed already. Thank you
