how to enable MDE in security.microsoft.com - missing menu

Hi there,

I have an E5+Security license but I don't see the menu for MDE in security.microsoft.com > Settings

There should be an 'Endpoints' menu in this list, yes?

Licenses assigned to my global admin user:

Thanks for your help in advance.

I'm also facing the same issue.

I've the active subscription of recommended license plan - Microsoft defender for endpoint P2 as per the Microsoft official document, however endpoint menu option isn't available under the setting option on portal - https://security.microsoft.com even after signing with Azure Global Administrator account.

    Microsoft Defender For Endpoint team,

    Please help us.

    Hi,

the EMS E5 license does NOT contain a Defender for Endpoint license. The only license assigned to your user that contains a Defender for Endpoint license is the Windows Enterprise E3 license (which includes a MDE Plan 1 license).

For resolving your error please try calling the following URL directly. https://security.microsoft.com/onboard_mtp
This should lead you to the inital setup page.

I am using a Global Admin account (CDX) with Office 365 E5, Windows 10/11 Enterprise E4, Enterprise Mobility + Security E5 but the link just spins and I don't see the Endpoint options. Any other suggestions?

    Update:

Defender for Endpoints is part of the M365 E5 license bundle, see here:

    https://www.microsoft.com/en-ca/microsoft-365/compare-microsoft-365-enterprise-plans

felix is correct, the EMS E5 license doesn't include it, see here:

    https://www.microsoft.com/en-ca/microsoft-365/enterprise-mobility-security/compare-plans-and-pricing

(tip: if your current license cost is around $20 per user, then you likely don't have Defender for Endpoint.)

The menu doesn't show up immediately in the security.microsoft.com portal but once you've clicked on some of the menus you'll get some 'setting things up..' pages and shortly afterwards it should show up.
