Device Control for macOS

Can we use the payload of the Device Control in the Jamf Pro, to restrict the file transfering of the macOS devices. If not what is the limitation of the Device Control?

    Hi,

    Device Control in Jamf Pro
    Purpose:
Device Control aims to manage peripheral devices (USB drives, external hard drives, etc.) connected to macOS devices.
It helps in enforcing security policies by controlling access to these devices.
    Capabilities:

You can allow or block specific devices based on their identifiers.
You can also set policies to restrict the use of certain device types.
    File Transfer Restrictions:

While you can restrict access to external devices, the Device Control itself does not directly manage or restrict file transfers over network protocols (e.g., SMB, AFP, HTTP).
It primarily focuses on the physical connection of devices rather than the data being transferred.

let me know if you have question or concern ๐Ÿ™‚
    Thanks
