Defender Mixed Licensing

Hi,

 

We have E5 and Defender P2 licenses for all staff. We will be hiring a few contractors for a few months and I was planning to give them spare Business Premium licenses we have.

 

Will those users get Defender for Business Premium and will I be able to assign them policies via the portal. It seems we can only have either the Defender P2 portal or Defender Business portal?

    When you go to the Defender XDR portal settings > Endpoint > Licenses.

    Here you can see which MDE licenses are in use and thus you can also set who gets which licenses.
