Seems like the fix got released today, expect updates to roll out...

Not in our organization. And we're running 12.3.1.
The only time the checkmark is there is when Defender gets installed initially for us. As soon as you reboot or get an update of it, it becomes an X.

pmonfette-ns Good day make sure to follow this article and primarily look at step# 7. You have to grant full access to sshd-keygen-wrapper, Microsoft Defender ATP & Microsoft Security Defender extensions.
Finally you have to run this Sudo bash -x MicrosoftDefenderATPOnboardingMacOs.sh.
I am confident your issue will be solved.
