Cannot enable Defender Performance Mode for Dev Drives

I'm running up to date Defender on Windows 11 Pro but cannot enable Performance mode for Dev Drives.

The Configure performance mode status GPO does not exist at all so I ran:

set-MpPreference -PerformanceModeStatus Enabled

which did not report any errors, however the Dev Drive Protection section in Virus & threat Protection settings > Manage settings is completely missing.

Am I missing something to enable this facility?
