Updating a distribution list

The distribution list does not reflect the names and emails as they appear in Outlook Contacts.  And, when I change a Display name in the email of a Contact and go to the distribution list and "update," nothing happens.  In the old Office Outlook, you could correct mistakes easily by "updating."  Now that link doesn't do anything.
