Unable to add custom template to a custom site content type in Group team site ...

Hello. When I try to 'Upload a new document template' (word document), to a custom content type on my Group team site, I get this error:   "Sorry, you don't have access to this page"   Am I doing...

    Yeap, this is one of the problems of the Content Type Hub...and also bear in mind that Content Type Hub support to modern team sites is relatively new

Thanks for the confirmation jcgonzalezmartin.

 

The content type did eventually appear. Not sure how long it took as we had a long weekend here and I had better things to do than keep checking the hub. :)

 

Now that I'm reasonably confident that the content hub types will appear in my modern team sites, I have added a number of content types with custom templates and will see how they go.

 

I have struck one issue with inserting the custom columns into the content type template on the hub but I'll start another thread about that.

    Hi

    I have recently also had the problem of not being able to add custom templates to content types associated with an Office 365 Group. I spent 45 minutes on the phone to Microsoft Support only to be told that the site is corrupt! However I tried creating a new test site linked to a test group and I had the same issue! I think that this is an issue that Microsoft need to look into as this only seems to happen with sites associated with a group. I have tried creating an old style team site not associated with a group and it seems to be working okay.

      I have the same problem.

      I've been using group based team sites to replace sites that were previoulsy on-prem.

      so this is a very annoying problem.

        Resolved! Apparently in order for this to work Custom Scripting has to be turned on in the SharePoint admin centre. If this is already on in your environment then you need to turn it on using Powershell. I put in a support ticket to Microsoft as Iā€™m not a power user and he showed me what to do and assisted me to customise the command. I can now create my custom content types with templates in my modern team site šŸ‘šŸ‘
