Office 365 write back for hybrid environment

That's the expected behavior. Sync is one-way only, from on-premises to Azure AD. There are only very few attributes that ever sync back, as for objects you have to enable additional features such as the Group writeback one: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/exchange/hybrid-deployment/set-up-office-365-groups
