How to create folder structure with complexe permissions

I need advice on how to realise the following:

We are looking for a way to create a folder structure where every single member of the group (about 450-500) has its own folder with the permissions set the way only he/she can see it and all group owners (about 5) can edit it.

Teams (for education) creates a structure like this automatically launching the assignment option in a "class" team. Opening the file-structure of the team in Sharepoint, switching to "/_layouts/15/viewlsts.aspx" one can find the "Student work" folder, which more or less has the structure and permission as we need them, but this unfortunately is restricted to 200 members.

Besides, we don't really need the features of Teams for our purpose, so I would prefer resolving this with a group.

Any ideas?
