How to Archive Inactive Office 365 Groups (and Teams)

I get asked about this question a lot, especially by companies who allow groups and teams to be created on a self-service basis...

----

Now that so many apps (like Teams) create Office 365 Groups, it’s logical that some of the groups will serve their purpose and then need to be archived. Office 365 offers no way to do this, but conceptually it’s a reasonably easy task and something that PowerShell handles with aplomb.

Thanks, that's a great hint. Do you know what happens with the associated Office365 group? Will it be hidden from search?

Groups are not hidden from search, but you can hide them from Exchange clients by hiding them from the GAL.
