five issues with one Office 365 Group
Hi Pete,
Nothing changed on my side. Managing that group within Outlook just started working a while back. Sorry I couldn't be of more assistance here.

Re-upping this thread.
20 months later and things are mostly better with this group, issues 3-6 are fixed. Issue 2 might still exist.
Most importantly, issue (1) has reemerged. Inextricably some external guests are not receiving their welcome emails. For some of our users, we create a customer username/password using a domain different from our tenant. This allows us to setup a Microsoft account without the user having to do so. Thus, we are the ones who would receive the welcome email and can verify they're not being received.
Normally, we'd add the user to the Office 365 Group through OWA. I tried adding the user through Microsoft Teams instead, but am getting a cryptic error: "We ran into an issue. Please try again later"
The latest help from Microsoft support is to recreate the group. Since there are more than 500 users, we don't want to do that unless we absolutely have to do so and can be assured this issue won't resurface with a new group. I'm still waiting for some substantive support from Microsoft on this and will follow-up if I learn more.

Thanks for the heads up! Glad it's working again.
For me, I was still have the issue with Office 365 Group emails not going out after the 19th. I got the Teams invite to start working and have started to use that instead. It's not ideal because they will also get the Office 365 Group invite too (SharePoint access) automatically. It'd be good if Microsoft could remove this redundancy since the Group email doesn't require any action from the user side (SharePoint access already works when they accept Teams invite).

Folks, we had a regression where welcome email was not delivered for guest users. We have fixed that issue and deployed in service on 19th Nov so it should be in 100% production now. Let me know if you still see the issue.

>Inextricably some external guests are not receiving their welcome emails
I must have commented on this topic at some point :-) This caught my eye - a ticket came in this morning from an *internal* user who swears blind they didn't receive the welcome email for several groups created last week. I've checked mail flow and I can't see them either so I tend to believe him.
My client makes heavy use of Office 365 groups (like 4-5 are created every week) and whilst they work, they still need considerable work to make them as functional as good old shared mailboxes.
Also, the way permissions are granted all over the place (member of group, contribute access against SharePoint and member of "XYZ" member group) means that project owners can't simply look at the list of members to see who has access. Plus there is bug whereby when owners generate a link (which defaults to anonymous), it breaks the inheritance on that document or folder. I've have to bill my client 22 hours to write a 500+ line PowerShell script to fixup permissions on groups - removes all the quirky individual shared documents and adds any users it finds as normal members.
Sorry for off-loading on your thread :-)The only positive out of this is my PowerShell skills in SPO, CSOM and Exchange are now really good!
