Files randomly moving to top level folder

Dear all,

 

It's been a while since this bug last occurred but..

 

On our Office 365 Groups we had two instances of files and folders seemingly automatically and randomly moving from their nested location up to the root/top level. My hypothesis is that opening them triggered this but I was unable to replicate the issue reliably.

 

Has anyone else had this experience?

    I just had the issue occur again twice, within the span of a week.. any help much appreciated!

    never seen this issue before. could it be that someone is uploading to the group instead to the nested folder?

      Thanks for your response Paul! That's what I thought too - but when we asked the people whose name was under "last modified" they had no knowledge of moving files or creating them at the top level.
