create a group from an existing e-mail address
Thanks Juan, I guessed that would be the case...
Do you (or does anyone else) know the best way to migrate data from one to the other...?
I assume that I'm not going to be able to simply rename my user account so the only way to do it would be to delete it, but that means I would lose access to all the data, right?
Thanks

Data - the e-mails and appointments in the calendar of the user account.
Thanks for your responses, I guess it's what I expected, i.e. no easy way to do this. I'll have to create a third 'spare' user account or use Google or something to hold the data while I delete the user account, to free up the e-mail address / username that I want to use for the Group.- Henk Lange deNov 28, 2017Copper Contributor
Hi,
i have the same question, we have a lot of shared folder groups and would like to move them to the groups.
Some of them have also an emailadress, and i want to use the same one, if that is possible?
What steps do i have to make to get this done?
When i delete the existing emailadress, how long dos it take for i can use that one againa and then for a group?
Henk

A group is a mail-enabled object. As such, its email address must be unique within Office 365. You need to use different email addresses for groups to those used for other objects elsewhere in the directory.
