Admin access to Private Group content
Is it possible for Admins to access the content of a Private Group if required, for example, if the owner leaves the company?
- Aug 29, 2016Yes, you as the admin can grant yourself or another person access to any group, private ones included. You can so do either via the Admin portal -> Groups or PowerShell.

If the Admin grants access to a private group, will the group be notified or alerted to this addition?

No, neither the owner or the members will be notified if new members are addedd from within the Admin center or PowerShell.

DouglasHamilton is this not an issue for non-technical companies. Let's suppose the one technical person on the company sets up Sharepoint and creates sites. The Management team wish to create a new area for management material. The technical resource as an administrator can grant himself access to this location, which the management team has no knowledge of? Isn't this a huge design flaw, or is there a way to protect against this?
Thanks
