How are you improving workflow visibility across healthcare operations?

One challenge I keep seeing across healthcare organisations is that teams often have the right systems, but not the right visibility.

For example, procurement, HR, finance and operational teams may each use different business applications. Individually they work well, but it's still difficult to answer simple questions like:

Where is this approval?

Who is responsible for the next step?

Why has this request been delayed?

We've been looking at using Microsoft Dynamics 365, Power Automate and the Power Platform to create connected workflows instead of relying on emails and manual follow-ups. The biggest improvement hasn't just been automation—it's giving operational teams a single view of how work is progressing.

I'm interested to hear from others in the Healthcare & Life Sciences community:

What has been your biggest challenge in improving workflow visibility?

Have you used Dynamics 365 or Power Platform to solve it?

Which business process delivered the quickest value when you automated it?

We've recently explored this topic in more detail, including practical examples of improving workflow visibility in healthcare:

I'd love to hear your experiences and different approaches.

Workflow visibility can make a big difference, especially when different teams are working across separate systems. Having a clear view of who owns each step and where a request is sitting can cut down a lot of back-and-forth emails and manual follow-ups.

The biggest challenge is getting teams to move away from email-based follow-ups and into a workflow where ownership and status are visible. We’ve found that automating approval and request processes can make a quick difference, especially when teams can see exactly where something is stuck and who needs to act next. The visibility gained is often just as valuable as the automation itself.
