Enabling the Online archive does not automatically move items, that's decided based on the set of retention tags/retention policy assigned to the user. In this scenario, you can assign a policy that includes folder-specific tags only, so that the Calendar is not affected. I understand. The assumption here is that an MRM Policy had already been applied and the live mailboxes items were already moved into the In-Place Archive.

Keep in mind that if you do not adjust the policy, items will again be moved to the archive.
