Excel Hangs Applying Any Formatting to Cells

Hello,

 

When opening a new excel file after a fresh restart of my PC, whenever I apply bolding/italics/any cell formatting Excell will freeze and hang forever until force closed. This happens when opening it with or without safe mode, and in a brand new file.

 

I have tried 'repairing' my office installation and it still occurs.

 

Not sure what to try next, but it makes Excel unusable.

    Hi exceluser20,

     

    This will seem odd but try changing your default printer from whatever it is now to "Microsoft XPS Document writer" and try again.
