Messaging and Communication channels besides Champion programs?

Hi all,

I'm fairly new to an adoption analyst role after a lifetime of support side work. Besides Champion programs how else do you communicate with your enterprise? My org doesn't want to enable Yammer, and we have significant restrictions regarding mass e-mail. I do leverage a monthly newsletter but my content is a bit buried and I'm not proud of the click rates. One of my (seemingly) most effective communication channels so far is a Team I inherited that we call the App Chat Café; it has channels for 365 as well as various other ubiquitous apps. However, only a small fraction of M365 users have joined this team. I'm really curious what others are doing to overcome communication challenges.

How big is your organisation? Is there something specific you’re trying to target or is it more like a hints-and-tips approach for your articles?

Thanks for the reply Ben. In terms of tenant size we have about 70K licenses consumed. But in terms of my expected audience for adoption comms, it's more like 40K. Really, I'm just curious what others are doing in terms of adoption related communications; as in what thy find most effective. But a great deal of it is hints and tips type stuff.

I imagine it must be hard to get cut through with that many users.

We've looked at various things to drive adoption (e.g. SharePoint sites, Org-wide teams, gamification, lunch and learn sessions, virtual drop-ins, workshops etc) but I some of the best outcomes are where we've reached out to team owners and people leaders to meet with them directly to address pain points or assess their processes. Not only has helped to meet their specific needs but it also helps to build those relationships - for 40k people, I'd be looking at the Adoption Score to see if there are any groups with high utilisation first (get some quick wins!) and then start digging deeper.
