Why is my xfinity email not receiving incoming emails?
If Your Xfinity (Comcast) email may not be receiving incoming messages due to spam filtering, storage limits, forwarding rules, or third-party client sync settings.
Common Causes & Fixes
- Check the Spam / Junk Folder: Log in to Xfinity Connect and check your Spam folder. Xfinity's aggressive filters often categorize legitimate messages as spam. Mark them as "Not Spam" if found.
- Review Auto-Forwarding and Filter Rules: Go to Settings > Mail > Auto Forward and Filter Rules in Xfinity webmail. Ensure an active rule is not deleting, archiving, or redirecting your incoming mail without keeping a copy.
- Verify Mailbox Storage: A full inbox stops new emails from arriving. Delete old or large messages and empty your trash to free up space.
- Check Third-Party Client Settings (Outlook, Apple Mail, Phone): If emails appear on Xfinity webmail but not in your mail app, your client settings or credentials may be out of sync. Update your password if you recently changed it, or re-verify your IMAP settings:
- Incoming Mail Server (IMAP): imap.comcast.net | Port: 993 | SSL: ON
- Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP): smtp.comcast.net | Port: 587 | SSL/TLS: ON (Authentication required)
- Enable Third-Party Access Security: If using an external app, check your Xfinity security settings under Settings > Security > Third-Party Access Security to ensure external client access is allowed.
- Disable VPNs: If you use a VPN, your temporary IP address may be blocked or flagged by Xfinity's security filters. Turn off your VPN and test your inbox.
If the problem persists after trying these steps, contact Xfinity Support or call for assistance with your account.
