Using Microsoft Purview glossary and business terms as knowledge for Copilot Agents?

Hi everyone,

I'm exploring the knowledge management capabilities of Copilot Agents and had a question regarding integration with Microsoft Purview.

In several demos, I've seen Copilot Agents configured with business context manually through features such as Glossary, Synonyms, and other knowledge-related settings. This makes sense when the information only exists within the agent configuration.

However, in our case, we already have a significant amount of business metadata managed in Microsoft Purview, including:

Business glossary terms

Synonyms and alternative business names

Definitions and descriptions

Data domain ownership and governance information

Metadata linked to underlying SQL data sources

My question is whether there is a way for a Copilot Agent to leverage this information directly from Purview instead of maintaining a separate glossary and synonym repository within the agent itself.

Ideally, we would like Purview to remain the single source of truth for business terminology and semantic definitions, with Copilot consuming that context dynamically.

Has anyone implemented or evaluated an architecture like this?

Specifically:

Can Copilot Agents directly use Purview glossary assets and business metadata?

Is there any native integration currently available?

Would this require a custom solution (for example, retrieving Purview metadata through APIs and exposing it to the agent as a knowledge source)?

Are there any best practices for keeping business context synchronized between Purview and Copilot?

I'd be very interested to hear how others are approaching this challenge and whether Microsoft has any roadmap or recommended patterns in this area.
