Building a ChatGPT like app on top of Purview catalog data
We've started experimenting with the Purview catalog and added some governance domains and data products. This helps us build up a rich source of meta data especially when linked with the glossaries and data assets.
However, what we really want to get to is a solution where users can ask a question based on their objective and get told which report to run / website to access etc, like you would do with ChatGPT. The Purview CoPilot seems to be focussed on security as far as I can tell. I've got an idea that this can be achieved by using the Atlas APIs (confirmed by ChatGPT) but was wondering if this is something anyone else has done, if there is a sample app out there anywhere, or just if there's a better way of achieving our objective?

Microsoft
Hi GraemeW Great thought.
AFAIK lot of teams have AI enabled answering mechanism would be great to know what technology, platforms you are focusing on to build this. As I see you mentioned security focused co-pilot already exists so having more technology stack information will help.

Thanks for the reply. We have access to the whole range of Azure capabilities if we spin them up. We have an ASP.NET web portal we could host a solution in and experience of integrating with APIs. What we're looking for at this stage is any examples of where anyone has achieved the same thing, or maybe some pointers from Microsoft on the right approach. For example if the Copilot was going to be expanded to cover the metadata in the unified catalog then it may not be necessary to build something ourselves at all
