hi HOTROD1975​  Good questions, Surface devices can definitely be a bit confusing at first 🙂

Surface Go is the smallest and least powerful. It’s more like a tablet that can act as a light laptop. Good for browsing, email, and basic tasks.

Surface Pro 7 is much more powerful and can replace a full laptop. It runs standard Windows apps smoothly and is better if you plan to use Office, do work, or learn more advanced things.

Surface Pro 3 is quite old now. It still works for basic use, but I wouldn’t recommend it unless it’s just for very light learning.

On the processor question Microsoft usually recommends Intel because it works best with most Windows apps and is more reliable for general use, especially if you're learning or using business tools.

For internet:

All Surface devices have WiFi

They don’t have a built-in wired (Ethernet) port, but you can use a USB adapter if you need cable internet

My honest suggestion:

If you’re just learning, Surface Go is fine.

If funding is available and you want something that will last longer, go with Surface Pro 7 (or newer).
