Is there anyway to get a better view of topics?

There's way too much white space. You have to scroll, scroll, scroll, scroll... to view just a little bit of content. Yammer was awkward, TechNet/MSDN is much better.

 

Is there an alternate view available? Or anyway to customize the view?

    Thank you for the feedback MikeSmith - as this site is in preview we are working on the design as we wanted to get things rolling in the wild and take feedback on our next iterations.  Really appreciate it.
