Since Snap works with your other apps, start with Discord rather than resetting Windows’ multitasking settings.
- Put Discord in a normal, resizable window. If it’s fullscreen, try Ctrl + Shift + F to leave fullscreen; if it’s maximised, click Restore Down.
- Click inside Discord, then press Win + Left Arrow or Win + Right Arrow. If that works, follow with Win + Up Arrow to try a corner. Win + Z shows layouts for the currently active window—it isn’t a list of apps.
- If Discord snaps to half the screen but won’t fit a smaller corner, try manually shrinking its window. A minimum window-size requirement can prevent it fitting some layouts, especially at higher display scaling.
- If it won’t snap at all, right-click Discord’s system-tray icon and choose Quit Discord, then reopen it. Closing its window alone may leave it running. Install any available Discord update as well.
If the desktop app still refuses while other apps work, Discord in Edge or Chrome is a practical workaround: snap the browser window instead. That also helps distinguish a Discord desktop-window issue from a Windows Snap problem.
