angular.version 1.8.2?

If I check my console for the angular.version I see this site is running version 1.8.2
Latest version is 14.0.6

Seems this is potentially a huge issue, or am I missing something?

    Hello, Xiliath!

You must be interested in security, poking around the console like that! I believe I have some answers for you.

This site is running AngularJS, an open-source version of Angular by Google that was discontinued in January 2022. Why is Microsoft not upgrading? Probably other priorities, along with the fact the site uses Lithium Framework, now called Li3, which made using PHP with AngularJS more simple.

I'm sure Microsoft is working on innovating this entire community with the latest tech and a new vision for the future that integrates AI. I'm excited!

      Ed,

You are right we are, there is a new stack coming from the vendor (previously called Lithium) which will be using technologies like react, storybook and rapid protoyping tools like jest and typescript. All of this will of course continue to be build on our Azure backbone. The new stack will but accessibility for all and mobile, tablet uis at the heart of the new community.

We will of course share more about this transition in due course and some of you maybe invited to help us build our new UI / UX on that experience later in 2023 or early 2024.
