Suggestion - let teacher lock page titles in Class notebook

In the OneNote Class Notebook Add-in there's a fantastic feature that lets teachers distribute a page to student notebooks. But, when teachers distribute a page or section to students in their notebooks, students can change the page title making it nearly impossible for teacher to locate that page when she checks them later.

It also disables the quick review ability in the Class Notebook Add-in rendering it useless.

Suggestion - let teacher lock page titles in Class notebook. Or, automatically lock page titles when distributed.

  • I agree that this would be helpful; however, I'm not so sure how easy this is to accomplish, as students "own" all content inside their personal notebooks within the Class Notebook. It may not be possible to do that and still allow them to create/name their own pages.

AGREED! With what little I know of sharepoint and permissions I don't know of any that manage the title of a page. Perhaps some developer can come of with a solution but. . . . I agree this will not be a "small" task.

I like this suggestion. So far the teachers have just had to be firm about this and hold student's accountable to keeping the names as distributed.

I have also noticed this issue. Distributing a new section can take some time. I did not realize this so I just had students create that section and get the work from the content library. But then the next time I went to distribute assignments I saw two sections with the same name. Oops!
