what backup options are there for containers with hierarchical namespace enabled
I saw that this question was previously registered in 2021 without receiving an answer/recommendation.
When a storage container is deployed with hierarchical namespace, we lose point-in-time backup as an option.
What alternatives are there other than soft delete and retention period are there to protect the content?

Thank you for your response, I agree that your proposal is viable in the lack of an Azure driven solution that is in unison with the already existing point-in-time strategy that we have adopted throughout our Azure presence.
However, I feel it necessary to reach out to Microsoft in stating that moving away from centralised and consolidated practices is not something our organisation indulges in.We are hoping that the lacking of an Azure driven solution would be remedied in the not so distant future.

Hello akrofly, I was doing research on the web and I've seen around this topic.
FYI the ETA for backup on the azure side for HNS storage account is Q1 of 2024.

The only workaround for now is to frequently copy data from this storage account to a second storage account in another region. You can use tools such as Azure PowerShell, Azure Data Factory, etc.- Thank you for taking the time, however, this would not be a sustainable longterm solution for our organization
