ThreadX / Azure RTOS Licensing for older Versions of ThreadX
With the recent announcement that ThreadX will be managed by the Eclipse Foundation under the MIT license, my team is interested in how that affects our current licenses. Our current license for an older version of ThreadX doesn't apply to new products, so how are we supposed to obtain a new license using the older version of ThreadX for these new products. Will the MIT license retroactively apply to older versions of ThreadX?
- Hi Chris_Laity
Microsoft are currently working on it per uservoice:
https://microsoftteams.uservoice.com/forums/555103-public/suggestions/16934143-rename-of-team-channel-doesn-t-rename-associated-s
I would vote on the uservoice and follow updates (you get notified when the status changes). It has been some time (+1 year) but it's always good to know that Microsoft actively intend to resolve it. So if you want consistency with the channel and sharepoint names you will need to go ahead and set things up from scratch at the current time
Hope that answers your question!
Best, Chris

AustinWolf Hi Austin, you can continue to operate under your existing Express Logic agreement for the licensed legacy versions of the product. That agreement specifies the licensed software, licensed product definition, and licensed microprocessor. For all new projects, you can utilize Eclipse ThreadX which covers versions 6.x and newer. We designed Azure RTOS with a goal to provide a seamless migration path to existing Express Logic customers, since there are no API or general functionality changes. Azure RTOS/Eclipse ThreadX is fully compatible with all prior Express Logic versions.
