WAC in Azure

I am looking for info on how to get access to the Windows Admin Center on Azure. I am finally getting back to getting this implemented and thought I read that I can enroll my on-prem servers into WAC on Azure. I want to be able to manage my patching, see vulnerabilities, and also get my Hyper V host workload metrics. Was I reading this in correctly and it still needs to be installed on a local server?

  • Please try on below:

    1. Install Windows Admin Center on Azure VM:
      • Open the Azure portal and navigate to your VM’s settings.
      • Under the Settings group, find Windows Admin Center.
      • Follow the prompts to install Windows Admin Center on the VM.
    2. Register Your On-Premises Servers:
      • To manage on-premises servers, you need to register them with Azure Arc. This allows you to manage them as if they were Azure resources.
    3. Integrate with Windows Admin Center:
      • Once your on-premises servers are registered with Azure Arc, you can manage them through Windows Admin Center in the Azure portal.
      • Navigate to the Windows Admin Center blade in the Azure portal and select the server you want to manage.
    4. Manage Patching and Vulnerabilities:
      • Use the Updates tool in Windows Admin Center to manage patching.
      • For vulnerabilities, integrate with Azure Security Center to get detailed insights and recommendations.
    5. Monitor Hyper-V Host Metrics:
      • Use the Performance Monitor and other tools within Windows Admin Center to monitor your Hyper-V hosts and workloads.
