Azure VM specifications for MDI installation

Hi, The prereq's https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/defender-for-identity/prerequisites?source=recommendations state 2 cores, but this size is not available in some regions in Azure. Appreciate any r...

Are you running a DC on Azure ?
You can use a larger size of you want, it's 2 cores minimum.

Thank you. I can only see upgrade sizes with vcpu's, none with cores.

    Is this s production environment?
    If those are not dedicated cores, it will work but with reduced performance.

      Yes, it is a DC in Azure and is a production environment. It is currently a Standard D2s v3 (2 vcpus, 8 GiB memory). What size is recommended? B series VM's are not available and since there are many requests for the B series, quota allocation will take time.

        Best advice would be to use the sizing tool.
