WIP File Permissions
Hello All!
First time poster here. Hoping to get some help on an issue we've been facing.
We've recently migrated our users from a On-Prem Storage share to OneDrive. While the issue does not affect all users, we've seen about 1/3 of our user base have an issue when accessing Files in there OneDrive, it gives an error message stating "This document can only be opened from a Work Location". The only type of documents this error message pops up for is related to Office Suite of Applications only. PDF's and Notepads open fine.
We are a Hybrid Azure Environment with Intune. No SCCM.
I do want to mention that the initial setup for Intune was done by a previous employee. Ever since I've started I've noticed lots of issues we've had to correct along the way. Also I would by no means consider myself an Intune Expert.
First, we've deleted any App Protection Polices via Intune. We had a test machine that was freshly wiped and enrolled via Work or School Account. This machine with my OneDrive account was getting that error when opening Office Docs. After Removing these policies we've seen an improvement and are no longer getting the error message on the test machine. Unfortunately this is not the same case for the rest of our users and the issues is still prevalent. It's been about a week since the polices were applied via Intune so plenty of time to cycle down.
The data governance seems to only apply to files opened within OneDrive. When moving the file to say the desktop, it opens without issue.
Any insight on this would be so much appreciated!
