Why is Azure???
Azure is not automatically the best choice for every workload; the decision should follow measurable requirements and a proof of concept. Azure is often strongest for organizations already using Microsoft Entra, Windows Server, SQL Server, Microsoft 365, Defender, Purview, or Fabric because identity, governance, security, data, and licensing can be managed consistently. Azure Arc also extends Azure management and policy to on-premises, edge, and multicloud resources, which is useful when migration cannot happen all at once. Compare Azure, AWS, and Google Cloud using the same architecture: required regions, service availability, latency, resilience targets, security controls, staff skills, support, data-egress charges, and three-year total cost. Include reserved pricing and any eligible Azure Hybrid Benefit, but do not let existing licenses determine the answer alone. Build a small representative workload, measure performance and operations effort, and review it against the Well-Architected Framework. Choose Azure only if that evidence shows the best fit.
