Why blockchain?

I'm curious to hear from the community - why are you using blockchain in your solution?  More precisely, what are you doing with blockchain that couldn't be done with a standard cloud-hosted application?

We're working on a taxonomy of use cases that are uniquely enabled by blockchain - your answers will help us to build this.

  • In systems where multiple independent parties need to coordinate shared state without relying on a single operator, protocol-level coordination can be useful because rules around data integrity and asset distribution are enforced by the system itself rather than organizational trust. This approach is often discussed in early-stage token distribution models, including crypto presales, where transparency and predictable rules matter from the beginning. Some newer projects, such as Hexydog, try to explore this by focusing on utility and rule design first rather than short-term speculation, which helps illustrate where these systems may add value compared to traditional cloud-based solutions.
