Value cannot be null. Parameter name: path1

Hi All

Apologies if i asked this in the wrong forum. I am trying to install Azure ATP sensor on Windows server but it keeps telling me to update and when i try it fails and give me error.

Now I try again and it keeps telling me "Value cannot be null. Parameter name: path1"

Does anyone know how i can resolved this?

Chiglobal  This worked for me try it let me know.

Followed these steps and it installed again:

    1. On the domain controller where the ATP Sensor had failed, I searched the registry for "Azure Advanced" (without the quotes), and deleted all keys and subkeys where this was found.   I just made sure it was referencing the sensor.  There were several keys that needed to be deleted from HKCR and HKLM.   Just to be sure to be sure....make a backup of the registry before you delete the keys.

    1. I deleted the folder C:\Program Files\Azure Or Windows Defender Advanced Threat Protection Sensor

    1. Manually re-installing the sensor worked and it is reporting as expected in the portal.

I hope it is related existed installation; you are trying to upgrade issue because it being prompted do so. In this case it is hard to find what is exact issue. you can raise Microsoft support ticket in azure portal or post your problem in twitter @AzureSupport . However, you can do try below options, but I am not sure it will resolve( in case if new version require system configuration changes )
    1. uninstall and reinstall again
    2. try to run upgrade in elevated privilege
