Using Github Copilot from Azure Subscription
Hello,
I have a question on how GitHub Copilot can be accessed and managed through an Azure subscription. If I am getting a Github Copilot license, how is my azure subscription getting linked to the billing and licensing?
Specifically, I would like clarification on how the Azure subscription is linked to GitHub Copilot billing and licensing.

Just to add some clarification here — GitHub Copilot licensing can indeed be billed through your Azure subscription, not only through GitHub directly.
If you have a GitHub Enterprise Cloud account, you can connect an Azure subscription to it and have Copilot Business/Enterprise costs billed through Azure. The setup path is:
Enterprise or Organization → Settings → Billing & Licensing → Payment information → "Metered billing via Azure" → Add Azure Subscription.
For customers under a Microsoft Enterprise Agreement, you can also connect your Azure subscription ID to your enterprise account to enable and pay for GitHub Copilot through Azure.
Official docs for reference:

• Connecting an Azure subscription: https://docs.github.com/billing/managing-billing-for-your-github-account/connecting-an-azure-subscription
• Azure subscription payments: https://docs.github.com/en/billing/concepts/azure-subscriptions
GitHub Copilot licensing is not billed directly through your Azure subscription unless you explicitly configure pay‑as‑you‑go or a prepurchase plan in Azure Cost Management. By default, GitHub Copilot licenses are purchased and managed through GitHub itself.
