How to extract alternative information from an Azure Resource Graph Explorer
Hi all...
I am trying to create a query that shows the VM's in a subscription. I can project the information that is needed ie name, type, resourceGroup, subscriptionID...
The issue is that using the data in other areas requires the subscription ID (the actual long string of characters) instead of the name (which is the alias) which is a standard type readable name.
I've only just started looking into this stuff so I'm hoping that there is a method of passing the actual id that I am missing.
It shows in the details pane of the query output with the column name that matches the query input, but the name comes back not the id.
Hopefully this makes sense.
Thanks
- Tony_KuiperCopper ContributorI think I found something that works. You turn off the Formatted results option and the data is what I need...
Now.... Is it possible to connect Power Bi directly to this query? I don't have the Azure Graph connector in Pbi desktop that is often referred to.
