Filter "Removed" work items when adding a link to existing Work Item

I'm looking for an option to filter the shown Work Items when adding a link from other Work Item.

For example, when I try to add a Child work item link to a Feature, I search by the title name of the WITs, and get a list of both Active/New WITs, and also of the ones that are marked as "Removed":

Is there an option to filter the WITs in status "Removed", to not appear in this list?

Note: The suffix of the WITs title in the printscreen, states the "State" of the WIT.
