Azure file Sync Networking question

 I have a file server on-premise and I want to extend it to azure for high availability purposes since I have side to side VPN I have created a storage account and created Azure file sync service and created private endpoints for both the file share and the sync service now I need to register the server to the sync group and added as server endpoint the question is 

Can I register the server to Azure file sync service using the endpoint I have created or do I have to allow  443 traffic to the listed Microsoft internet endpoints listed in the network consideration article
