Azure Devops Custom Layout for a work item: Pulling in query

I created a custom work item. In the layout for that work item type I want to:

- Query a data field to return other work item types "related" to this one, but based on the data field I define.

- Similar to the "Retlated Items" that are displayed in most layouts, but I need it to show work items where my query is true.

Any help?
