Hello , You need to connect your domain to azure communication services :
I hope this playlist help you :

and just for your informations ,Azure Email Communication Services is not designed to function as a traditional email hosting service, so you cannot use it to connect an email client such as Outlook to send and receive emails.
Azure Email Communication Services is primarily used to send transactional emails such as password resets, account confirmations, and other notifications. You can integrate it into your web app to send these types of emails to your users.
If you need a traditional email hosting service, you can use Microsoft 365 or Exchange Online.

I have the same region for all resources as well, any other ideas?

Check in which region you selected for the resource order, because domain can be verified in the same resource region.
