AVD Desktop/Client OS - SMB Client Connection limit
Hey Guys,
Would like to confirm regarding SMB client-side connection limits, particularly:
"Windows Desktop OS typically enforces a maximum of 20 concurrent outbound SMB connections."
Is this SMB Client limit applies to Windows 11 Enterprise Multi-Session on AVD? We are using as the AVD session host OS. While it is a special SKU optimized for AVD, it is technically still based on a desktop OS. Looking forward to your insights.

Kidd_Ip and Markowski , thank you for your feedback. But got his reply from our Azure Contact, can we confirm this?
"Windows 11 Enterprise Multi-Session is a special version that is actually more similar in product type to a server OS than a desktop OS and it does not have the outbound session limit."

What about this:
- If you need more than 20 outbound SMB connections per session host, consider using Windows Server OS as your AVD session host, which does not have this limit.
- Alternatively, scale out your session hosts to distribute SMB connections across multiple VMs.- MarkowskiIron Contributor
Yes , the 20 outbound SMB client connection limit is per SMB client, not per user; so all users on that session host share the same connection pool.
