Microsoft Translator / Issues with Greek language

Microsoft Windows 10 Pro OS Build 19043.1023

Microsoft Translator Windows app version 5.6.0.0

Microsoft Your Phone app version 1.21042.121.0

Android version 11

Samsung Galaxy A32

When I receive sms messages in Greek on my Android phone directly or via “Your Phone” on my Windows 10 PC and then copy and paste into Microsoft Translator the translation often fails.

All it seems to do is to change the Greek characters to Latin letters.

Here is one example:

Greek:

H ΠAPAΓΓEΛIA ΠAPAΔOΘHKE ΣTHN ACS COURIER ME APIΘMO 4813327750 H ΘETIKH ΣAΣ AΞIOΛOΓHΣH ΣTO SKROUTZ ΘA MAΣ HTAN ΠOΛYTIMH. EYXAPIΣTOYME ΓIA THN ΠPOTIMHΣH ΣAΣ!

Translated to English:

PAPAGELIA PAPADOTHHKE STHN ACS COURIER ME APITHMO 4813327750 H THETIKH YOUR AXIOGHSH TO SKROUTZ THE MAS HTAN POLYTIMH. EYXAPISTOYME GIA THN PPOTIMHSH YOUR!

This is what I do:

I copy this (circled in red) to the clipboard:

I then paste the text into Microsoft Translator and get the English result:

Clue for development as to what might be happening:

If I manually type the Greek text into a new Word document using the Greek keyboard and then copy/paste into Microsoft Translator, it does work as it should.

I have here typed the text into Word, and I copy the circled text to the clipboard:

When I then paste the text into Microsoft Translator, I get a satisfactory translation:
