Roadmap for additional languages in MAI-voice-2 TTS?

Hi,

I’ve been following the release of MAI-voice-2, and the capabilities of this new TTS model are very impressive. From what I understand, it currently supports around 15 languages.

Is there an official roadmap or timeline for adding support for more languages? Also, is there any indication of when MAI-voice-2 is expected to move out of preview and become generally available?

    I would treat the current language list as the supported boundary until Microsoft publishes an update in the model documentation or Azure updates. Preview voice models often expand language and region coverage gradually, but there usually is not a reliable public date for a specific language until it appears in the docs or the model catalog.

     

    For a production plan, I would keep MAI-voice-2 behind a capability check and have a fallback voice from Azure AI Speech for languages that are not available yet. That way you can adopt the new voice as soon as the language appears without blocking the rest of the solution.
