enterprise application when deleting what makes it a soft or hard delete
I am going to start a cleanup process for some of our enterprise applications. I know that soft deletes remain for 30 days and can be restored up to the 30 days. My question is ... what makes an application a 'soft' or 'hard' delete ? Can I control this ?

You can’t directly control whether an application deletion is soft or hard:
Soft Deletes: Think of soft deletes as the safety net in the data world. When an object (such as an application, user, or Microsoft 365 Group) is soft deleted, it enters a suspended state. In this state, it’s not available for use by other services, but it retains its properties. Soft-deleted items can be restored within a 30-day window.
Hard Deletes: On the other hand, hard deletes are the clean and efficient option. When an object is hard deleted, it’s gone for good. No recovery, no second chances.- JohnM4301Copper ContributorThank you for your reply and explanation. My question is when you delete an application in Entra what determines if it is a soft or hard delete ?
