Business Central within a VPN Gateway?
Hi:
I understand that you can have an Azure VPN Gateway, containing such apps as the flagship Office apps.
Does this mean that Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central can be inside a VPN Gateway?
Thanks!

Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central is a cloud-based SaaS application, and unlike traditional on-premises apps, it does not reside inside a VPN Gateway. Instead, it’s accessed securely over the internet using HTTPS. You don’t need a VPN to use Business Central, and Microsoft doesn’t support hosting it within a VPN tunnel like you might with self-hosted apps.
However, if you're integrating Business Central with on-premises systems (like legacy ERP, databases, or file shares), then an Azure VPN Gateway or ExpressRoute can be used to securely connect your on-premises network to Azure. This allows hybrid scenarios where Business Central communicates with internal systems securely.
So in short:
- Business Central itself is not hosted inside a VPN Gateway.
- You can use a VPN Gateway to connect Business Central to on-premises resources.
