Greetings from Barcelona! The Microsoft team is thrilled to be at VMware Explore 2024. We'll be presenting at breakout sessions and look forward to meeting customers and partners to discuss their experiences with our product.
Join our sessions to learn about the latest updates to Azure VMware Solution and discover why it's the top choice for a quick and easy datacenter exit. Here are some recent enhancements to Azure VMware Solution:
- Azure VMware Solution runs VCF Private Clouds in Azure and now supports portable VCF subscriptions. Azure VMware Solution will support the VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) bundle from VMware. One Solution, Two Ways to Purchase: All customers will experience the same Azure VMware Solution managed service, but now you have two purchase options:
- Purchase Azure VMware Solution from Microsoft with VCF included.
- Purchase Azure VMware Solution from Microsoft and leverage portable VCF subscriptions purchased from VMware. You only pay Microsoft for the Azure VMware Solution service and infrastructure. Learn more.
- Azure Elastic SAN for Azure VMware Solution, now generally available, offers AVS customers an Azure deployed, fully managed, VMware certified SAN that is scalable, easy to manage, and has redundancy built in at a low TCO. AVS customers now have options to deploy their workloads based on a variety of storage performance and reliability characteristics: Elastic SAN for block storage, and Azure NetApp Files for native file storage. Not every workload requires the performance of locally attached storage devices, and many workloads like backup and disaster recovery, or other capacity intensive workloads can benefit from this cost-efficient, extensible storage solution. - Resource Health for Azure VMware Solution is now available in Public Preview. Resource Health, an Azure native feature, now monitors the health of Azure VMware Solution Private Cloud resources, provides recommended actions for current issues, and allows reporting on past and present resource health. Resource Health offers customers a personalized dashboard to monitor the health of their Private Cloud resources, and provides insights into periods of resource unavailability, enhancing reporting and triage capabilities. Using Azure Monitor, you can also configure alerts to notify you of availability changes to your cloud resources. A set of critical alerts has been activated to notify customers and provide customers with reasons for host replacements, root causes of Storage and Network alarms, actions taken by Microsoft, and any required customer actions. - VMware Rapid Migration Plan promotions extended to June 30, 2025. Earlier this year we introduced the VMware Rapid Migration Plan – a comprehensive set of offers to provide price protection, savings and migration assistance to help migrate to Azure VMware Solution. Due to strong demand, we are pleased to extend the promotion for the five-year reserved instance (RI), an additional 20% discount on the one-year reserved instance (RI), and up to $120,000 in Azure Credit Offer until June 30, 2025.
