Introductions
Hi, all! Welcome to the Viva Community. We are thrilled you are here to connect and engage with peers and experts in the employee experience space. To get to know the members of the Viva Community, we are going to start this very first discussion forum with introductions. We hope this thread continues to grow over time so members of our community can continually get to know one another. Some ideas of what to include in your introduction: your name, where you are located, your role in your organization, topics of interest, and why you are excited to join this Community. I'll go first! My name is Melissa Barry and I am part of the Microsoft Viva team. I lead our customer empowerment team as part of Viva People Science and launching this site is one of the many projects that I am fortunate to be part of in my current role. I am passionate about making people happier and successful at work, and I believe when individuals succeed, organizations succeed. I am interested in the intersection of organizational psychology and technology and what that means for the future of work, especially as we think about AI. I am thrilled to be part of this community to connect and learn from all of you. Outside of work, I love exploring our local NYC parks and restaurants with my husband and daughter.melissabarryApr 04, 2023Former Employee7.5KViews21likes30CommentsContinuing the conversation about deploying Microsoft Viva to Microsoft itself as a Customer Zero
https://www.microsoft.com/insidetrack/blog/deploying-microsoft-viva-connections-internally-at-microsoft/ In this article our team focuses on deployment of the Viva connections module. As I've mentioned before it's critical to have a partnership between your information technology team (Microsoft Digital Employee Experience, MDEE) and Human Resources in terms of deploying Microsoft Viva. The Microsoft Viva Connections dashboard is the primary portal into what’s happening in an employee’s day and in the organization. It provides a centralized location to find and act on company tasks and specific action items for their job. The dashboard uses dynamic cards that employees can interact with to do things like complete simple tasks or review critical data. It’s authored in SharePoint and published to the Viva Connections app within the Teams mobile experience or to the employee’s desktop. Staying connected in a hybrid work environment is key for our employees and the connections module facilities access. For our internal employees at Microsoft, we customized Viva connections to put the employee at the center and provide information and tools that are most important to them. Our implementation puts common employee tools & resources in a unified location with a common user experience. Cards that provide perspectives from other Employees, a Paystub Card, food choices in your local cafe, and facilities requests are common tasks that employees frequently use. Many of these cards come from different teams in Human Resources, Tech Support, and our Real Estate and Facilities teams. The partnership between our information technology team (MDEE) and Human Resources was key to a successful implementation. Viva Connections consolidates access across a huge array of company resources and touchpoints, including SharePoint Online, Microsoft Teams, the Microsoft Graph, and other Microsoft 365 apps like Microsoft Viva Engage and Microsoft Stream. It's another important tool to enable employees to stay connected to what is important for their successRich_KaplanJun 28, 2023Former Employee330Views5likes0Comments百家乐开户+威a3322148
We are moving away from using a performance management HR management system and would like to use Viva Goals to achieve all of our individual, team, and organizational goals. Our organization still wants to move to a pay-for-performance structure, which requires us to find a performance review process that can be used with Viva Goals data. Has anyone used Power Automate?zhaowo17050981504Dec 04, 2024Copper Contributor48Views4likes0CommentsMSFT Viva MVPs share best practices for driving Viva deployment & adoption in your organization!

We have couple of Viva suite licenses and use Viva Engage for internal communication specifically type of message "Article" which is available only for people who are licensed. Do have to be covered also end users who are just consumers of messages (Articles) in Viva Engage and are not able to create this kind of message? Viva Glint shows us what our organizations and teams need to change within the employee experience to help our people thrive. However, that insight can be wasted if it isn’t carried forward through continuous conversations between leaders and their people. But how often do we stop to assess if we're actually listening for the sake of hearing, and not for the sake of answering? A World Economic Forum article describes the act of "Generous Listening" as several factors that we should make space for when we set out to listen to someone: having true intention, making space, being fully present (not distracted, or multi-tasking), leaning into curiosity and being open to hearing something unexpected, and role modeling openness ourselves. What listening strategies have you seen, or tried, that can help build a habit of truly listening to the perspectives of employees and the accounts of their lived experiences? https://www.weforum.org/agenda/2023/01/generous-listening-work-skills-leadership-davos23sonyabediApr 26, 2023Microsoft616Views1like1Comment
