Quick question: After a hotpatch (and before any later reboot) is there any way to absolutely confirm the fix/patch is in place, other than using a debugger etc to prove the in memory code has been updated?
Just examining the build version of the binary on disk is NOT sufficent (as, as noted above, that binary has been updated even if it has not been loaded yet [plus some in-use binaries only get updated on reboot via the 'Pending File Rename Operations' mechanism.])
Well I guess if the hotpatch install says it worked and installed ok, it means the in memory patching was successful.
